Yakubu work Premit appeal fails

Derby County representatives where very disappointed this morning as the appeal for a work permit for Yakubu Aiyegbeni has been unanimously turned down.

Aiyegbeni now returns to Israel

This now means that Aiyegbeni must now return to his club Maccabi Haifa of Israel.

Several pleas on behalf of the Nigerian where swept aside. Most notable recommendation was from Sir Alex Ferguson.

The failure may be a blessing in disguise for the Rams as Maccabi Haifa where expected to ask a transfer fee of around £2million for the striker. A sum Derby County could not meet at the present moment with banks opposing any money for transfers until player are sold or a new financial package is in place.
