Wages to be paid to Rams players

Monthly wages that have been held back by the banks after Derby's financial troubles hit crisis point are to be paid.

Officials at the club confirmed this afternoon that Derby County's playing staff will have their monthly saleries on Friday morning (6th September). They say that the Banks have responded to their plea for more time to sort a financial package out for the club and Derby County FC is grateful for their understanding in the matter.

This now leaves directors and the Chairman of the club just 24 days before the next pay day.

Certain quarters are asking if the threatened walk-out by Danny Higginbotham prompted the swift responce on the wage front. It remains to be seen if progress on a rumoured takeover and restructuring of the clubs finances now has a swift conclusion.
