Tommy Johnson to face Rams

Derby County could be welcoming back on of it's long lost sons this season.

Tommy Johnson may well walk out for the first time at Pride Park but not for the Rams.Tommy has just signed for fellow first division team Gillingham. Andy Hessenthaler is pleased to have snapped up the former Rams star and says he will be a great addition to his strike force. Johnson will partner former Rangers star Rod Wallace up front for the Gills.

This will be Tommy Johnson's eighth move since starting his career at Notts County in 1989.

Johnson moved to the Rams March 1992 was his first of three £million+ moves. His latest move to Gillingham comes after an eventful loan spell at Kilmarnock, having scored 7 goals in 7 league games for the Scottish club.

First chance for Rams fans to see Tommy in action again comes in only the second game of the season. The Rams travel to Priestfield, home of Gillingham on the 13th August.
