Simo Valakari told he can leave the club
The exodus of players from Pride Park looks set to continue as Simo Valakari reveals he has been told he can leave the club.

The 29-year-old has spoken of a letter he received from the club a few weeks ago saying he free to join another club and they would negotiate a final payment with him.

Simo is now actively searching for a new club and his agent is confident he will find one soon. However the situation is hindered by Simo’s lack of first team football. He has not played for the first team yet this season and it is this more than anything that is making finding a new club that little bit harder than it should be for a seasoned International.

A loan deal similar to the one currently in place for Mart Poom may be an answer for both Simo and the club. It would allow the Finnish midfielder to show his worth whilst taking his wages off of the clubs books.
