Rams to contest Doyle dismissal.

The Rams are to consider appealing over the dismissal of Nathan Doyle during Tuesday night’s reserve match against Chelsea at Pride Park.

The youngster got his marching orders in the 78th minute for an incident, which the referee Mr. R Pollock saw as a deliberate stamping attempt on an opponent.

Reserve team coach Steve Taylor is not, however, convinced of hat being the case, and he player himself was very upset after the match for what he considered to be a wrongful dismissal.

If the sending off stands Doyle will face a three match ban that will come into effect 14 days after the initial incident.

According to Taylor, " I didn’t have a clear view of anything from my position. All I saw was a load of players which made the incident worse than I think it was. We’ll have a look at the video and take it from there."

"The referee said to me after the game that he had seen him off for what he saw as deliberate stamping. So I will have a look at that and see what I see on the video."

"If we think that the decision is wrong then we will put in an appeal, but if we think it was right we will have to stick by it and get on with it."

It was not all doom and gloom for Taylor, however, as for a second week running the defence had not been breached, "we were a very young side again. We were solid at the back again with Pablo Mills and Mo Konjic, and up front with Junior and Gianfranco Labarthe Tome. The others were playing in the under 18s on Saturday."

"I thought we deserved to win the game on chances created. They might have had a lot of possession, but they couldn’t break us down because the young boys in midfield were well organized."

"We had always planned on taking off Mo Konjic and Junior at the times we did so they would be nice and fresh for next Saturday/"

"The big thing for me though is that we got slaughtered in our first match against Southampton but we have kept clean sheets in the last two games, which is something we are working on."
