Rams could decide relegation places

rele table.JPGAs the season come to an end, Derby County could yet have a say in who remains in the Championship next weekend.

The Rams play host to Millwall in the final game of the 2012-13 season and Millwall are not yet safe from the drop from the Championship and many hurdles have to be taken by the Lions before they can breath easy this season.

Millwall have a game in hand on their relegation rivals but have to face play-off chasing Crystal palace this coming Tuesday night. Palace are not sure of a promotion play-off place but a win would ensure their position. Should that be the senario Millwall would remain on 55 points, just one more than Peterborough in 21st place and Barnsley, who currently occupy the last relegation berth.

So the Rams could be a side Millwall need to beat or gain at least a point to be safe for next season. Barnsley have a minus 14 goal difference compared to Millwall's minus 10, so Millwall will need to keep any loss on Tuesday night to Crystal Palace down, or a point for the Tykes and defeat by the Rams could see Millwall down on goal difference.

Peterborough would then only need a point in their final game against Crystal Palace, who may decide to field a less than full strength side, should they have ensured a play-off place against Millwall on Tuesday.

There are many different scenarios to decide who will make the drop down into league one but the Rams may have a say in it too...
