Derby County are to lodge an appeal against the three-match ban imposed on Adam Murray.

Murray was sent off with a straight red card last week against Bradford City after earlier receiving a yellow card.

The Rams management thought the straight red card was not justified and have sent video evidence to the FA disciplinary committee and hope a review will find in favour of the Rams midfielder.

referee,
Neal Barry
The match referee involved in the match last Saturday was Neale Barry. He has only refereed seven matches this season, the majority being in the Premiership but has shown 32 yellow cards in this period. That is an average of 4.5 cards per match. 18 of these yellow cards have come in Barry’s last 3 games in charge.

Derby County hope to hear of the committee’s decision later next week. Murray himself certainly hopes the decision is reversed. He showed his emotion and remorse for the incident by leaving the field in tears.
