Bad Boy Rammie could face disciplinary action for his actions during yesterday's game with Reading
Derby County are being asked to discipline mascot 'Rammie' after an incident during yesterdays match with Reading.

The Rams mascot came over from the corner flag in the South East corner to a prone Brian Howard and urged the player to rise to his feet. The incident was a clash of heads and looked very innocuous but after several minutes on the floor Howard still hadn't risen to his feet and St John ambulance and paramedics were in attendance.

Rammie as well as quite a lot of the 30,000 crowd, including myself, thought the game should have been re-started with Howard just inches from the by-line and could easily have received any treatment had he been moved over the line.

Rammie however took things into his own hands and ran from the South East corner were he had been enjoying the game and urged Howard to rise to his feet, which was greeted with anger from several Reading players but cheers from the rams supporters. Unbeknown to Rammie and others Howard had received a fracture of his jaw an an ambulance already ordered to take him to hospital.

Rammie was the all action hero before the game as he (or quite possibly a Royal Marine Commando ) abseiled down from the roof of the stadium. Now calls for him to be disciplined have been made following his actions. The club are thought to be taking some appropriate action but have not said exactly what that will entail.

The mascot himself has apologised for his actions after the game and as it is clear that he had no idea as to the severity of the injury at the time. Howard may now need surgery on his jaw and could be out of the game for several weeks...
