Darryl Powell
is set to decide if he is staying with the Rams or is moving on after the weekend. Powell's current contract runs out on Sunday 30th June 2002. With nearly seven years at Derby, Powell is the longest serving player at the club.

John Gregory has offered Darryl a one-year contract with the Rams. However Powell is likely to wait till the last moment because ex Rams manager Jim Smith is said to be offering a contract, which could take Powell back to Portsmouth.

Powell joined Portsmouth as a trainee in 1988. He enjoyed six and a half years with Portsmouth before Jim Smith brought Powell to Derby County on the 27th July 1995 for a sizable £750,000
