Poom and Barton to miss Forest clash

The much-awaited local Derby match against Nottingham Forest has been soured with two Rams players having to sit out the match trough suspension.

Captain Barton to miss the Forest game
Rams Captain Warren Barton will miss the match because of his sending off for Violent conduct against Preston on September 21st. His tussle with Preston’s Richard Cresswell earned Barton a straight red card. He will also miss the games against Millwall and Sheffield United.

A recent story about Barton’s sending off can be seen by clicking here.

The story gets worse however as Rams number one goalkeeper Mart Poom also received his marching orders last night in the Worthington Cup defeat by Oldham Athletic.

Poom was booked firstly for arguing with the referee over a penalty decision that was the eventual match-winning goal.

Mart Poom's two moments of madness will deprive the Rams of their number one keeper in the local Derby against Nottingham Forest
The Estonian keeper then inexplicably handled the ball outside his area when coming for a high ball. The resulting yellow card meant Poom had received two yellows and the Red card was then automatically shown to the Rams keeper.

Sadly this will see Derby County without Poom’s services for the important local Derby. The Rams had a poor disciplinary record before these instances of foolish sendings off and are still under an FA fine of around £80,000 which they can scarcely afford at this moment in time………

Yes it really does go from bad to worse when you are a Rams fan!
