Not Poles Apart.

A goup of Polish youngsters who travelled to England to meet their hero Grzegorz Rasiak had that dream kept alive thanks to Rams Football Weekends (RFW).

Despite their international striker moving from Derby to Tottenham the ten children, members of the Redeco Sport and Recreation Association, still got to see him AND experienced the joys of the recent Rams v Southampton match at Pride Park.

When the transfer went through RFW Co-ordinator Steve Parker jumped into action and arranged for the Poles to get tickets for Tottenham’s game at Aston Villa.

That meant the group were able to meet Grzegorz at Villa Park before heading to Derby to sample the delights of a Rams Football Weekend.

And, after spending a night in the Swallow Hotel, meeting the mayor and going on a tour of the most central city in England, the footie-mad kids (pictured) took part in a five-a-side match against young Rams fans at the JJB SoccerDome earlier this afternoon.

All of this action culminated in a trip to the home of Derby County, Pride Park Stadium, for a tour of the ground and then great seats to watch the 2-2 draw against the Saints.

Steve says: “We were determined to make sure that these deserving Polish youngsters could still come over and enjoy a Rams Football Weekend and we’re pleased that we were also able to arrange for them to see Grzegorz in action.

“Rams Football Weekends are about catering for the needs of our customers and we are delighted that our group of friends from Poland had a great weekend.”
