Steve Bloomer painting goes to life long fan Ian Hodgkinson for £857
Life long Rams fan Ian Hodgkinson will pay an amazing £857 for a painting of Steve Bloomer this Friday 22nd August. Ian's generosity is will be added to the funds already collected by fans over a five year period, that was originally intended for a 1.5 life size statue to stand outside Pride Park. The sum of £857 was arrived at by combining the amount of games played by Bloomer and the goals he scored for Derby County.

Now a scaled down project to raise a half body bust of arguably the greatest ever player for Derby County, will  now go ahead and be ready to be unveiled by January 20th the birthday of Steve Bloomer.

A presentation of the painting by Rams CEO and President Tom Glick will take place at Hodgkinson's Builders Ltd near to Pride Park stadium on Friday morning.

Ian Hodkinson managing Director of the firm will hang the painting in the board room of his new offices, which are a stones throw from the Rams stadium. Hodgkinsons Builders will also be involved in producing the plinth on which the bust will rest and hope to incorporate bricks from the Baseball ground, rescued many years ago as the stadium was pulled down. The bricks will again unite the two grounds or homes of Derby County football club.

Photographs of the days presentation will be available on Derby County Mad on Friday evening...
