Konjic returns

Mo Konjic is set to start his first competitive fixture for the Rams tonight as Steve Taylor takes his reserve outfit to Watford.

The Bosnian defender was signed almost before last season had been put to bed, but despite being the earliest of the summer signings has managed just one pre-season friendly because of a knee problem.

Throughout what has been a variable start to the current campaign George Burley has refused to rush one of the lynchpins of his revamped defence back for fear of worsening the problem.

The match kicks off at 7.00pm at Vicarage Road Watford.

In other Rams news George Burley has confirmed that the three-month loan of Andy Oakes to Bolton has freed up sufficient funds to allow him to plunge into the loan transfer market.

Burley has, however, given no clues to potential targets or even which position or positions he is looking to strengthen.

Meanwhile Paul Peschisolido has flown out to join up with his Canada teammates for two matches against Honduras and Costa Rica. The striker may not be considered first choice at Pride Park but is expected to lead the line for his country in both matches.
