With the season fizzling out for Derby County I am sure all Rams fans are looking forward to new and exciting players coming into the squad for next season, but just how many can we expect?
Certainly by the noises coming from Gary Rowett, not a lot. Gary has told fans not to expect an initial flurry of signings when the new season's transfer window opens. Infact Rowett only expects to have one or two new players at the club before pre-season training starts.
Rowett goes on to say that there may be two or three players before the start of the new season, or in the early weeks but it looks far less convincing than the earlier reports of a total overhaul of the Rams squad which was apprently already being looked at.
We all realise that the job Rowett has will not be done over-night but it now looks as though players will be thinned from the current squad but will not be replaced until a quality player, or players become available.
Loan signings may be put in place during the season to supliment any new permanent signings, so the question of how many new players will we have come August is still not clear but you can bet that will not stop the rumours during 'silly season' on Derby County Mad.
