Steve Livingstone has fracture to the base of his skull
Further scans on the head of Grimsby striker Steve Livingstone have revealed that there was more damage than at first thought.
After spending his second night in hospital under observation a CAT scan revealed that there was a fracture at the base of Livingstones skull.

Danny Higginbotham was shocked by the news but insists that his challenge was not intended to injure the player. He does admit he was late into the challenge but he thought he had a reasonable chance of getting to the ball.
Higginbotham has asked to be kept informed of the progress of Steve Livingstone by the Grimsby manager Paul Groves.

The incident held up the game for almost quarter of an hour as Livingstone lay unconscious with blood pouring from his ear. He was later taken to the Diana Princess of Wales Hospital with a neck brace fitted.
Early reports said that no damage had been sustained by Livingstone but he now faces a long lay-off.

Everyone at Derby County Mad wishes Steve a quick and full recovery..
