Gregory on the carpet again

The Football Association has charged John Gregory with improper conduct.

Gregory charged by FA again
Gregory in trouble with the FA again
The charge concerns the outburst by Gregory at referee Styles and his assistant in the April 13th game against Newcastle united at Pride Park. Newcastle United scored an equalising goal following a hotly disputed offside decision that was not given by the officials. Gregory refused to go to the stands for quite a while until it was quite clear that referee Styles was not going to restart the game until Gregory had complied with the order. Gregory also had words at the final whistle with an assistant referee.

Any action by the FA is likely to be harsh considering Gregory has only just completed a 3-match ban and £10,000 fine imposed on him after a charge of using foul and abusive language at match officials whilst in charge at Aston Villa. However Gregory said he didn't use any bad language this time in his protest.

If the Rams boss wants a private hearing over the offence he now has fourteen days to appeal.
