Grant to miss friendly International

Lee Grant
has been given special permission by the FA to miss this Thursday’s U20 friendly International against Switzerland.

The Rams number one keeper should have been playing for his country at West Hams Upton Park Ground. However Grant and Derby County realised that the game would take place just 48 hours before the Rams home game with Brighton. The FA were asked for their

decision last week and have just confirmed that Grant will not have to play in the International.

Although grant is keen and extremely proud to be chosen for England U20, he realises that his main task is to ensure he is number one at Derby County. Lee was given the chance at Pride Park when Mart Poom went on loan to Sunderland and Andy Oakes was out injured and suffering from a lack of form.
