Former Rams assistant manager Alan Ashman has dies aged 74.

Ashman started his Rams career as chief scout in 1979 and took over as assistant manager when John Newman was appointed manager in January 1982.

Alan Ashman’s most successful spell in football will always be remembered at Carlisle United were two spells as manager saw him take charge of 349 first team games, winning 245 of these games in charge.
