FA step in to broker Morris payment

The Football league is to broker a deal between Derby County and Sheffield United to find a solution to the £500,000 they owe the Yorkshire club.

The deal will involve the FA making payments to Sheffield United from the monies that Derby County get as a parachute payment following relegation from the Premiership.

This will guarantee that the payment will get to Sheffield United and take some of the pressure off of Derby County to honour the transfer deal.
