Neil Ardley may make first appearance in a Rams shirt tonight

Neil Ardley may get a chance to impress the Rams tonight in the Friendly game with near neighbours Mansfield Town.

The 29-year-old midfielder, who has recently finished his contract with Wimbledon after 11 years at the club, is tipped to be another free signing if funds are made available for contract at Pride Park.

Meanwhile John Gregory looks set to try different players and tactics in the games against Mansfield and Chesterfield tomorrow night in the Derbyshire FA Centenary Cup. Danny Higginbotham looks set to be played in one of the coming games after his slight thigh strain.

Competition looks fierce once again in the Derby camp as player try and gain their place in the season’s opener on 10^th August.
