Ex Rams star Paul Simpson has become player/manager at Rochdale. Simpson now 35 was a player with Derby County from February 1992 until November 1997.

Simpson was a bargain buy for the Rams when you consider his record for the team. He played 134 times in the league for Derby scoring 48 times. Four goals from 4 appearances in the FA Cup. In the League Cup Simpson scored in half of the 12 games he played and there where 14 appearances in other games where he scored twice.

Not a bad record then for a midfield player….164 GAMES PLAYED 60 GOALS SCORED. Many A striker would envy those figures.

After leaving Derby for Wolverhampton Wanderers for a fee of just £75,000 Paul went on to give 3 years service to the Wolves before going on loan to Walsall and eventually being given a free transfer to Blackpool and finally another free move to Rochdale in March of this year.

A great crowd pleaser and popular player whilst with the Rams, everyone at Derby County Mad wishes Paul well with his managerial career.
