DERBY COUNTY 2006/07 SEASON TICKETS

Rams director Jill Marples has launched the club's 2006/07 season ticket packages with the message Derby – and proud of it!'.

“The club's new board of directors appreciated the overwhelming response of Derby County fans on our arrival last month,” said Jill. “Now we are urging them to continue to back the club by investing in a 2006/07 season ticket.

“With a player wage bill among the top six in the Championship and season ticket packages among the lowest in the division, the club has felt it necessary to increase prices by a maximum of 15 per cent for adults and 10 per cent for young fans.

“Packages remain among the most competitive in the Championship, with the lowest-priced adult tickets in the bottom four of the division and prices for young fans well below mid-table.

“An adult season ticket holder renewing in category D will pay £270, less than £12 a match and representing a saving of up to £272 on match-by-match tickets – the saving made is more than the cost of the season ticket.

“Junior Junior packages start at £55 for the season – less than £2.50 a game and representing a saving of up to £153 on the cost of tickets on a match-by-match basis.

“The club has abandoned the re-grading exercise proposed last season – with the exception of seats in north lower, which will become category D, Pride Park Stadium's lowest-priced packages.”

To encourage early renewal, season ticket prices will rise on 18 June. Current season ticket holders must purchase by 17 June to guarantee their seat for the new campaign.

Current season ticket holders will receive renewal packs through the post over the coming days but can renew immediately at the Pride Park ticket office, online at www.shopdcfc.co.uk or by calling 0870 444 1884.

Derby County chairman Peter Gadsby said: “This is the dawn of a new era for Derby County and to give us the best possible start we are asking fans to commit for the new campaign. The earlier supporters join us, the sooner the club and our new manager can plan for the season.

“We believe it is necessary to introduce a season ticket price increase but our packages are still among the most competitive in the Championship. And we promise that season ticket investment will go towards re-building the club.

“Like the talented players being nurtured by our Academy, our young fans are the future of this club and that's why our junior ticket packages remain among the lowest in the league.

“We have been able to bring financial stability to Derby County through significant investment from the board of directors. But there is still much to do and our fans can play their part.

“Despite a difficult year on and off the pitch, around 18,000 supporters chose to become season ticket holders last time around and the average attendance for 2005-06 was well over 24,000. That's remarkable considering the situation the club was in and left us in the top four of average league attendances.

“It is our ambition to become the best-supported club in the Championship – and that's down to the fans.

“There's renewed confidence in the club, faith in the future and a chance to restore some Derby pride. That's why our message for the season is Derby – and proud of it!'.

“There's a lot of hard work ahead for the management, players and staff at Derby County. But it's a challenge we're all relishing and, with the fans behind us, we can head into the new season with new hope, confident of a brighter future for Derby County.”
