Deon not wanted at Britannia Stadium

Burton now back in pre-season training with the Rams
Stoke City
are almost certainly not purusing any interest they had in Deon Burton.
The 25 year old had been on loan at the Britannia Stadium from 21st Feb until the end of last season.

Burton could not have done more for the potteries side, having scored in the division 2 promotional play-off semi final and at the Millennium Stadium in the final.

Stokes manager Steve Cotterill was quoted as saying that he had “no plans to review any of the loan players situations”.

Deon is well use to being loaned out. He has had three spells during his career, firstly being loaned to Cardiff whilst with Portsmouth. Then a month long loan to Barnsley whilst with the Rams and finally the loan to Stoke.

It is quite surprising that Deon has been loaned out so many times especially if you look at his goals to games ratio whilst with the Rams .

He has played 89 times for Derby County since his £1million move from Portsmouth in August 1997. In that time Deon has scored 50 goals in all competitions. However his last goal for the Rams came in the 3-2 defeat against Leicester City back on 15th September 2001. His last start for the Rams was against Sunderland 0n 9th February of this year.
