Burley an ex Ram by the weekend?
Craig Burley
has intimated that he could be walking out of the doors at Pride Park before this Saturday’s game against Watford.

Burley had been out injured for just over a year before his return to the first team squad against Wimbledon on the 23rd Nov.

His advisors had been having talks with DCFC as early as last Friday but Craig himself was preparing for the game against Norwich and wasn’t involved with discussions.

Chief executive Keith Loring
He is now saying that Derby County’s Chief executive Keith Loring had approached him whilst out injured and asked about the possibility of a mutual termination of his contract. We don’t know what was discussed in these meetings but it obviously didn’t work out at that time.

Burley’s advisors are now locked in talks with Derby County and Craig has said the discussions were based on one thing and that was he leaving the club.

Manager John Gregory has said he would miss Burley’s abilities if he were to go but went on to say “There is a big financial benefit if we were to shake hands with Craig and call it a day”.

Derby County are also aware that Burley’s contract will run out this summer and there is little hope of raising any substantial transfer fee for him before that time. So it seems another departure from the Rams squad would benefit all concerned.
