Derby County finally managed back-to-back wins. The double came over Sheffield Wednesday just three days after winning against Sheffield United at Pride Park.

Morris scores against Wednesday
Derby had a dream start with Lee Morris scoring with just 7 minutes on the clock.

Morris was instrumental in most of the Rams attacking moves and on the half hour he added to his earlier goal, cutting in a superb shot from a tight angle. Unfortunately for Derby and injury prone Morris his celebration involved jumping an advertising hoarding. His feet deserted him as he landed and fell awkwardly.
Izale MacLeod was first to get to Morris and immediately signalled to the bench for some assistance for the duel goal scorer. After several minutes of treatment Morris was stretchered off with what looked a bad injury.

We later heard that Morris was ok apart from a slight nose injury and a chipped front tooth.

The Rams went in at half time in an unusual position of being two goals to the good. More was to come as the second half started and before many fans had sat down from their half time refreshments Young Izale MacLeod had made the points seemingly safe for Derby by scoring his second goal in three days for Derby against a Sheffield team and making the score 3-0 to the Rams.

There was hope for Wednesday however and a couple of substitutions made a vast difference to the Owls. Their efforts were rewarded after 60 minutes when Hamshaw placed the ball past Mart Poom but try as they might Sheffield Wednesday couldn’t get a second goal and Derby County ran out worthy winners.
