Derby County's unbeaten run has finally been ended at the Den, as Millwall scored two without reply from the Rams.

Derby hadn't lost since the midweek game at Hull City on Tuesday September 14th, where the rams again lost 2-0.

Millwall had only one win in seven games before today but it is always an intense atmosphere at the Den and today was no exception. They were given the dream start against the Rams in just the 11th Minute, when Steve Morison produced a piece of magic and a deft chip from the edge of the box that left Rams loan keeper, Frank Fielding clutching fresh air.

Derby had brought back Captain, Robbie Savage into the starting line-up after his rest in midweek. Shefki Kuqi also re-claimed a starting berth. The Rams had their chances during the first period and at 1-0 down at the break it didn't look to be a lost cause.

The Rams were soon climbing a steeper mountain as the second half started. Steve Morison was again in the thick of the action. His cross was met with a thundering header from close range by Theo Robinson with just 49 minutes played.

The Rams to their credit did not give up the fight and continued to push forward. Nigel Clough tried to freshen the attack up and add a little more power in front of goal by putting on Tomasz Cywka and on-loan striker Luke Moore. They replaced Robbie Savage and Alberto Bueno after 60 minutes.

The defeat has moved the Rams down the Championship table, starting in 7th place they now find themselves in 11th place. One place below rivals Nottingham Forest. Although the defeat has seen the Rams drop 4 places, they are still just three points from a play-off position.

Nigel Clough will have to galvanise the Rams squad for next weeks home game against Watford....
