The Rams have found their true form to hold European giants Ajax to a 2-2 draw.

A crowd of 12,502 saw the Rams dominate this game at times and be very unlucky to end the night with only a draw rather than the win which looked likely when Izale McLeod scored in the 75th minute.

The game started well for the visitors with Nicola Mitea scoring after just five minutes of the first half. The Rams fought hard against the European Cup quarter finalists and deservedly equalised early in the second half. Ian Taylor scoring in the 47th minute.

The Rams fans must have been proud and impressed with their team as they repeatedly attacked their Dutch visitors. The

crowd were over the moon in the 75th minute as young Izale McLeod scored to make the score Derby County 2 Ajax 1.

The victory over one of Europes leading teams look there for the taking but as so often in recent seasons Derby couldn't hold out for the final 15 minutes. As the clock showed 82 minutes Ajax's Van der Gun pulled the trigger and squared the match at 2-2.

The season and future of Derby County football club may not be sorted yet by George Burley but with results and commitment like this it may not be long before the Rams are back on the road to the Premiership.
