Derby's hopes of back to back League victories for the first time in over 18 months were dashed again when a last-gasp Walsall penalty rescued a point for the Saddlers.

The Rams saw a two-goal lead evaporate as Walsall overcame losing centre half Danny Hay to a second yellow card ten minutes from the end.

Steve Corica had pulled a goal back for Walsall and the game was deep in stoppage time when the former Derby midfielder Darren Wrack was brought down by goalkeeper Mart Poom.

Zigor Aranalde coolly slotted home the penalty to leave Derby reflecting on what should have been.

Malcolm Christie had struck twice to give his team a two-goal cushion but their inability to keep possession allowed Walsall a way back.

Christie almost had a hat-trick but James Walker denied him in the 57th minute but Walsall also had a number of chances.

Eight minutes into the second half, Adam Bolder put Christie in on the right and his firmly struck shot went in off the hands of Walker.

Junior lifted a shot over from close range but Corica reduced the deficit from the edge of the area in the 64th minute. However, Walsall lost Hay to a second yellow card ten minutes from the
