Warren Barton in depair as he scores an own goal
Derby lurch from one disaster to another after they were outplayed by a Burnley side who moved off the bottom of the first division table with this victory.

Derby dominated the first half but after the break Burnley swamped them and could have had an even more impressive victory to take back to Lancashire.

Obviously, Derby's problems are not confined to crippling debts and uncertainty off the field. Despite looking good at the start, they wilted once Burnley boss Stan Ternent had made an inspired switch.

The introduction of Glen Little at half time galvanised Burnley and with Robbie Blake in inspirational form, they turned the match on its head.

Bolder scores Derby's first and only goal in another home defeat
Blake tucked away a penalty and then delivered the cross which saw Derby skipper Warren Barton put the ball into his own net.

Derby must have wondered what hit them. It was all so different when Adam Bolder drove a low shot through a crowded area and in off a post in the eighth minute and the home side should have had more goals.

Midfielder Adam Murray headed a Rob Lee cross straight at Marlon Beresford in the 16th minute and Malcolm Christie rattled the foot of a post in the 27th.

Burnley hardly had a shot on goal in the first half but they were rampant after the break.

Blake makes it 1-1 from the penalty spot
Blake almost scored in the 49th minute but was then brought down by Chris Riggott a minute later and he coolly tucked away the spot-kick.

The second came after Blake ran at the defence on the right and when Barton tried to clear, he sliced the ball into the top left-hand corner of Derby's net.

Blake almost put Lee Briscoe through on the hour and the striker wasted a good chance to get his second when he blazed over in the 68th minute.

Derby's best effort in the second half came from substitute Lee Morris who had a fierce drive beaten away by Beresford but they offered little else and the signs are there is a long season ahead for the East Midlands club
