The Rams reserves took a point away to Southampton in their last game of the season but it is unlikely to be enough to win them their second title in three seasons.

Rory Delap
Ex Ram Rory Delap now not expected to make the FA Cup final after new injury last night
Ex Rams defender Rory Delap was in action for the first time in two months following an ankle injury. He was trying to regain full fitness but tragedy struck on the half hour when Delap twisted an ankle and was carried from the pitch. The pain must have been made worse by the fact that he now looks almost certain to miss the FA Cup final on the 17th May.

Delap’s absence may have contributed to Derby’s first goal. A well-taken header by Steve Elliott, who ironically was returning to action after injury, found its way into the Saints goal.

The Rams kept the lead for only seven minutes. Chris Baird stocking in an easy chance three minutes before the break. The game looked like ending all square after the first 45 minutes but Aaron Davies scored in injury time to make the score 2-1 to Southampton.

Derby County worked hard and gained their reward in the 80th minute, Adam Bolder gaining a point for the Rams.

Will that point be enough to deny Fulham or Arsenal the reserve league title? We will just have to wait and see.
