Derby County Mad player rating results v Crystal Palace

Last updated : 28 September 2010 By Rams Mad Editor

After a fine win on Saturday we expected the Derby County Mad player ratings to higher than recent weeks, and you the fans didn't disappoint, with ratings averaging around the '7' mark. This in contrast to the average of around five for previous performances.

The five goals to nil win over Crystal Palace was just the tonic supporters were looking for and this time Stephen Bywater didn't feature in the top half of the ratings polled. This is hardly surprising as he had little or nothing to do in the Rams goal. However he did nothing magnificently and also kept a clean sheet, so well worth the 6.46 rating.

Defenders did ironically feature highly in this rating session and John Brayford deservedly gaining a very high 8.46. His involvement in the game was total, from excellent defending, some fine runs out of defence which resulted on one occasion with the straight red card shown to James Vaughan for the untimed tackle on him.

The Derby County mad rating king for this game however went to Spanish star, Alberto Bueno (8.73). His adaption to English football was there for all to see against Palace. Some silky moves, good passing and movement were topped by two excellently taken goals. No wonder he was recommended to Johnny Metgod by the Spanish World Cup winning manager.

Only two players failed to get into the 7's on our rating scale. Dean Moxey polled 6.89, whilst Rams Captain Robbie Savage came bottom of your ratings with just 6.41 out of 10 from the starting eleven players
