Rams injury jinx strikes again

The Rams injury jinx has started again before a ball has been kicked in their 1^st Division challenge.

Simo Valakari out for 6 weeks

Midfielder Simo Valakari will miss at least the first 6 weeks of the new campaign. Simo has had reconstructive surgery on an ankle injury, which has troubled him since the end of May.

The surgery was carried out in his home country of Finland and a screw that holds the ankle together to enable it to mend will be removed toward the end of August.

Valakari hopes to make a full recovery and play his part in the Rams push for promotion. Simo played only 7 times for the Rams last season after a previous ankle operation.
