The 24-year-old central defender is rumoured to be wanted by Wimbledon. The Dons have been keeping a watchful eye on Elliott and are keen to add him to their squad.
Steve has been having some excellent game in the Rams reserves after coming back from an injury that many thought may end his career. Nerves where damaged in Elliott's left foot. The damage was so severe that he couldn't leap for the ball until a final do or die operation corrected the injury.
Although Wimbledon are casting admiring eyes in the direction of Steve Elliott, their financial state at the moment means that any move by the Don's would consist of a loan arrangement or the more unlikely scenario of the Rams letting Elliott go on a free transfer.
The decision now appears to be with John Gregory and if he sees Elliott as a part in his future plans and also if he requires any payment for the young defender.
