Will Poom be a boom with the Gunners?

Mart Poom will he be a Gooner?
Arsenal are said to be poised to launch an audacious bid to secure the signature of on-loan Rams keeper Mart Poom before the transfer window even opens on Wednesday.

Arsenal have a keeper crisis at the club after a couple of their keepers have sustained injuries that could keep them out of squad contention for weeks or months. Stuart Taylor has a broken finger, whilst Rami Shaaban has a broken leg.

David Seaman is their only fit goalkeeper other than 18 year-old Craig Holloway, who will be on the bench for Saturday’s game with Liverpool.

Mart currently on a two month loan spell is troubled at the moment with a Mystery leg injury and may well not only play a single first team game for the Black Cats but also miss out on this golden chance of a move to a team capable of giving him the honours he is seeking in the Premiership.

Sunderland were in fact said to be very keen to take Poom to the Stadium of Light on a perminent basis after the loan spell. However recent reports have cast doubt on Sunderlands ability or willingness to stump up the neccesary cash to make the move perminent.

With Arsen Wenger stating on the official Arsenal web site that he is looking to get a good deal on a goalkeeper perhaps he sees Poom as the ideal option as the Rams must listen to resonable bids for their players at the present moment.
