Rumours today of a bid from Turkish club Galatasary to take Georgi Kinkladze away from Pride Park.Galatasary hope to prise Kinkladze away for little more than the £2million Derby Paid to the Georgian International in 1999. He is seen as the ideal replacement for Georgi Hagi who retired from competitive football two years ago.

Kinkladze is rumoured to have said, “I would like to stay in England, although it would be difficult to turn down the chance of Champions League football and the opportunity to be nearer my hometown of Tblisi”.

Time will tell if this latest rumour concerning Georgi is true but it would get some money into John Gregory's transfer piggy bank. That is assuming the bank has not got its eyes on any profit from player sales.
