It has emerged today that Manchester City may be about to offer in the region of £1.5million for Rams defender Danny Higginbotham.

Derby County have refused to comment on the rumour but manager John Gregory has already said that there has to be some players leaving the club to help with the finances.

Higginbotham signed for the Rams on the 5th July 2000 from Manchester United for £2million. Despite a poor start to his career at Pride Park Danny fought back and is now one of the most saleable players at the club.
In his time at Derby Danny has played in 92 games for the Rams, scoring two goals.

Higginbotham is currently the Rams player of the year, receiving the Jacky Stamps trophy last May.
