After the free transfer move by Stephen Warnock, Wigan are favourites to take a second Rams defender in Jack Buxton.
The 31 year-old Buxton has struggled to get a starting berth in the Rams side all season following injury and at 31 it may be time for him to move on.
The latics see Buxton as a second prized capture following their return to the Championship at the end of last season.
Buxton, or Bucko as he was known at the Ipro has made 159 appearances for the Rams and his rise from what was a non league Burton Albion in 2008/2009 has been historic.
Many will be sad to see Buxton leave as he was a defender with heart and passion for Derby.
