Luke Varney makes a dream move to the Premiership with Blackpool
Luke (Reg) Varney is off to the seaside and the Premiership as he has completed a season long loan to Blackpool.

Ian Holloway, the Blackpool manager sees Varney slotting straight into his sides way of playing and he is expected to be part of the Blackpool squad that plays host to Fulham tomorrow afternoon.

Varney, who is 27 has never been favoured by Nigel Clough and it is uncertain whether it was Varney's loss of form or his wage demands that prompted the Rams to look to get rid of Varney.

Blackpool have negotiated a season long loan for Varney and have an option to make the move permanent if he impresses in the Premiership. This understandably begs many people to ask why he couldn't command a place at Pride Park, given that Derby County don't have a fit striker at the club at the moment with Chris Porter carrying a hip injury, Tomasz Cywka having to wear a mask for his fractured cheek bone and Rob Hulse also side-lined with an Achilles problem.

The Rams are likely to go with makeshift striker Dean Moxey as their only forward tomorrow, as they entertain league leaders Queens Park Rangers...
