Ten Million pounds on transfers

Adam Pearson
Rams Chairman gives out confusing messages to fans and his manager
Well the sums just don't add up and the rumour and denial by Billy Davies and Adam Pearson continues to appear in the media.

The Rams manager is stating in many articles that he intends to bring in six new player during the January window, presumably to help in the weekly fight against utter humiliation that his team and most of the Derby County fan base are now having to face.

Adam Pearson on the other hand is now giving clear indication that Davies will now have considerably less than £10m to bring in those players.

So we have a manager that is hopeful of buying six players that will presumably cost little more than £1.5m each. Has he a master plan or scouts out in far flung parts of the globe that can supply the Premiership standard players for next to nothing in today's highly competitive football market? The odds must be against him and the poor supporters look like being given the same old blarney when the quality transfers again fail to appear.

I want six I tell you!
Pearson is also said to be hard at work with his potential United States investors, including the nephew of Walt Disney. Denial of the deal and a blasting of the media for reporting such a gross inaccuracy came on Thursday last week. On Friday the news that Pearson 'Maybe' in talks with the 77 year old nephew of Disney tells a different story. So why the secrecy and why the denials?

Confused, well I certainly am and I dare say many fans are too. Hopefully any deals to bring in extra capital will arrive soon and maybe the stories of not spending huge amounts of money on quality players may have just been a bluff to enable Billy Davies to pick up players on the cheap. Whatever happens in the next six weeks you can guarantee there will not be a dull moment in and around Pride Park...
