Steve Howard looks to be on his way to Leicester
Steve Howard could be the first player to leave Derby County once the transfer window opens at midnight tonight.

The Rams hero is said to be signing for East midlands rivals, Leicester City. The Foxes Chairman Milan Mandaric has spoken to local media about the transfer and was hopeful to get Stevie signed up in time to play in the New Years day game against QPR. Mr Mandaric has however forgotten that a player must be signed 24 hours before playing for his new team.

If this transfer goes through the Rams must be looking at a new striker for their 2nd January clash with Bolton. If the Rams fail to bring in a new strike the Rams will only have Kenny Miller and Jon Macken fit for the game.

The Rams are looking for at least four new signings during January and look to be concentrating on a defensive player or two, possibly a creative midfield player and of course a striker.

Derby County are keeping all targets a closely guarded secret until the witching hour but will hopefully announce at least one new face before playing Bolton at the Reebok stadium...
