Season ticket price freeze or price rise?

Last updated : 12 February 2009 By Rams Mad Editor

Derby County have issued a statement on season ticket renewals that has a large sting in the tail. Rams CEO has stated that there is to be a season ticket price freeze for current season ticket holders as a 'Thank-you' for their loyal support during the season.

The sting in the tail comes in the fact that if season ticket holders do not renew by the 11th April season ticket prices will be raised by £50 across the board, which will mean the lowest adult season ticket price at Pride Park will go up to £320 per ticket.

The price rise news has been softened by several new additions to the season ticket for season 2009-2010. Each adult season ticket purchased will allow a child of seven or under a free season ticket. Also the Cup vouchers are back, or at least one of these. A free ticket comes with every season ticket purchased for the first home Carling Cup game.

Another freebie in next season's season ticket is a free ticket to a home friendly. Not sure if this has been thought through properly however , as most season tickets arrive after the pre-season friendly games have been played. However it does seem to indicate that there may be more than the usual one Home pre-season friendly game at the start of next season, or maybe it is intended for the prestigious last pre-season friendly game against a quality side.
