Robert Earnshaw's season

Rob Earnshaw has had a disaster of a season
It looked oh so good for Robert Earnshaw and Derby County when the Welsh International signed for a club record fee of £3.5m back on 29th June 2007.

Rob, as seasoned Welsh International since 2002 has a record that most strikers would envy, scoring a hatrick at every level of football during his career.
His 27 goals in just 45 matches for Norwich had prompted Billy Davies to make him his "Fox in the box". Unfortunately for Earnshaw the box was never opened long enough for him to show his talents.

Rumours of lack of effort, loss of form and even drink problems have circulated around the Derby County faithful after Earnshaw was left out time after time. We still don't know the real reason that Earnshaw is getting overlooked but that problem has now cost him his International call up, being left out of the Welsh squad for the first time in six years.

The Welsh side will be without Earnshaw as they play a friendly International against Luzembourg on the 26th March at Stade Josy Barthel, Luxembourg City, 1915 GMT.

Rumours of loan spells and even a full time move to Cardiff City, for whom he scored 85 goals in just 178 appearances seem to be garthering pace but would they be prepared to come anywhere near the £3.5 the Rams paid for the Welshman?

Yes indeed, a season to forget for both Rob Earnshaw and the Derby County Fans....
