Yes, Derby County are flying and that is official. The Rams will travel down to their FA Cup clash this weekend by air. With an important home league game coming up on Wednesday, Billy Davies has decided that the Rams would benefit by travelling the 255 miles to Plymouth by charted aeroplane.

Derby have charted a 31 seat Scot-Airways Dornier 328, that will fly out of the East Midlands Airport for the hour long flight.

The Rams will then be able to have a full three and a half days to recover for the vital Championship game against Stoke City on Wednesday (7.45k.o)

Davies has said the club are very aware of the pressures put upon the players at this time of the season and with them pushing for promotion, it becomes imperative to get the edge on your opponents. The extra resting time may be vital in gaining that edge.

It is all now down to the players who are said to have now put aside their bonus payment differences and are pulling together to get Derby into the Quarter final of the FA Cup for the first time losing to Arsenal by a single goal in the 1998-99 season.
