Derby County were today told by the FA that they were correct in refusing to pay the inflated prices imposed on them by Queens Park Rangers.

QPR had raised the price of an adult ticket by £10 to £40 and the Rams directors said they were not prepared to let their supporters pay this inflated rate. League rules state that clubs have to set their ticket prices at the start of each season and can only alter prices if both clubs are in agreement.

The ruling has come as a shock for QPR, who maintain they need the higher prices to enable their push for promotion to the Premiership. It has also come as a huge relief to other clubs who will visit Loftus Road this season.

QPR fans have contacted us and openly supported the Rams decision to boycott the game had the price rises stayed. Supporters of the Hoops are already being asked to pay up to £50 for a top seat in the ground, which many of them are struggling to finance on a game to game situation...
