Despite having Craig Forsyth, George Thorne, Jason Shackell and Mason Bennett in their ranks last night, Derby County U23 side were unlucky losers to Everton U23. The Toffees were last seasons Premier League 2 Champions.
George Thorne continued his comeback from injury but lasted only 13 minutes of the game and had to come off through illness rather than a re-occurance of any injury.
Thorne had been struggling all day with a heavy cough, thought to be part of a virus he has picked up and could not continue.
Jason Shackell was Captain for the evening and came through another 90 minutes, the same 90 minutes was played by Craig Forsyth as he continues to gain match fitness.
Mason Bennett led the Rams attack but the Rams couldn't breach the Everton defence and now stay anchored to the bottom of the league.
