Derby County U18 side slumped to a defeat at the weekend at home to Newcastle United U18's. It looked as though the Rams in third place in their league would be taking all the points off second place Newcastle but a final flurry of goals for the visitors saw Derby throw away a 2-1 advantage with less than 10 minutes left.

Derby had taken the lead twice in this game the first goal a scorching shot from Anoa Dillion in the 27th minute. That strike was enough for the Rams to take a deserved lead into the interval. Following the half time break Newcastle's Slovenian 16 year-old Haris Vuckic made the scores level in the 51st minute.

The Rams again took the lead in this pulsating game when Anoa Dillion again struck to make the score 2-1 in the 54th minute.

All three points seemed destined for the Rams up until the 80th minute when Jeff Henderson brought the scores level, but the Newcastle side sensed victory and further goals from Dan Williams and Michael McCrudden made the score look decidedly one sided at 2-4 but the Rams were desperately unlucky not to get at least a share of the points.

The win for Newcastle keeps them in touch with group D League leaders Sunderland , the Rams remain in third position...
