The Rams Academy starlets prove that Derby County have new talent waiting to prove themselves at the club. The U18 side took on and beat the Academy side of Manchester City and all their millions couldn't help them as the Rams ran out 2-1 winners.

It was City's first league defeat of the season, Derby winning by goals from Charles Vernam and an own goal from City's Nathaniel Oseni.

Manchester City stay top of the Barclay's Premier Academy League (Northern division). Derby County are now hard on their heels in fourth place, just four points of top place.
