Rams to play their part in relegation struggle

OK we give in, we are now officially the worst team ever in the Premiership after yet another defeat at the hands of Blackburn Rovers.

With one game remaining the Rams can only amass three further points to take them to 14 for the season , that would be one behind Sunderland's dismal total of 15 points in the 2005-06 season.

The pundits yet again pointed out with glee the glaringly obvious, that Derby County are at present not good enough to compete in the Premiership. Sky Sports pundit Matthew Le Tissier observing that the Derby County defending was "comical".

Reading staying up or going down? all to play for next Sunday
Yet despite all that has happened this season it will be down to the Rams in part to determine who follows them through the Premiership trap-door next weekend.

Reading are in the relegation zone and look to be favourites for the drop. A win over the Rams is a must for Reading, a draw may well not be enough as the resurgent Fulham have a better goal difference, -23 as opposed to Fulham's -29, so a win is their only option.

The Rams will hopefully play their part in a game that will be nail-biting for the Reading fans both in the stadium and at home. Derby can relax and enjoy their final game in a nightmare season. Hopefully a swift return to winning ways and the Premiership will follow next season...
