Derby County will be staying local for their 2009-10 pre-season warm up. The Rams will be playing Burton Albion, Notts County, Chesterfield in early July before moving on to a tour of the West Country, playing Yeovil, Torquay and Exeter.

The final warm up game will be at Pride Park on the 1st August and it is hoped a Premiership or European side can be persuaded to come.

Manager Nigel Clough has said he has chosen to stay in the UK after suffering some terrible pre-season experiences whilst with Nottingham Forest and feels staying local will be of a greater advantage to the Rams than flying around Europe, which many players don't like, and getting bored in some far flung and lonely place. The move is also geared to let as many Rams fans as possible enjoy the build up to the new season

Dates are yet to be confirmed for most of the games and may change at any time...
