Matt Oakley adds to growing Rams midfield
Derby County have swooped to sign up Matthew Oakley, longest serving player with Southampton.

The 28 year old has signed on a free from the Saints and will line up against his former colleagues at St Mary's in Sunday's vital first game of the 2006-07 season.

Oakley played 39 games for the Saints last season, scoring two goals.Billy davies may have brought him into his squad because of his creative midfield work and also for his versitility, being able to play at right back as well as midfield.

We are sure he is looking forward to playing against Southampton on Sunday and hopefully being one of the midfield masterminds who unpick the Saints defence. There can be no player on the Rams side with better knowledge of his former team mates.
